6 cups Fresh or Frozen Blackberries
½ cup Granulated Sugar
2 tablespoons All-Purpose Flour
1 tablespoon Lemon Juice
1 box Yellow or White Cake Mix (approx. 15.25 oz)
½ cup Unsalted Butter, melted
½ cup Milk
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish
- In a large bowl, combine the blackberries, sugar, flour, and lemon juice. Toss to coat and spread evenly in the baking dish
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the cake mix and milk, then stir in the melted butter until just combined
- Spoon dollops of the cake mixture over the berry mixture, leaving some gaps
- Bake for 40-50 minutes until the topping is golden and the filling is bubbly. Let cool for 15-20 minutes before serving
Notes
Adjust the sugar based on the sweetness of the blackberries.
For best results, use fresh blackberries if available, or add frozen directly without thawing.
