  • Total Time: 30 mins
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale

2 cups Tapioca Flour
½ cup All-Purpose Flour
½ cup Granulated Sugar
1 tablespoon Baking Powder
½ teaspoon Salt
1 cup Warm Milk
¼ cup Unsalted Butter, melted
1 Large Egg
1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
46 cups Vegetable Oil or Canola Oil
As needed Glaze Ingredients (Powdered Sugar, Milk, Vanilla)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, whisk together the tapioca flour, all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt. In a separate bowl, whisk the warm milk, melted butter, egg, and vanilla extract until smooth. Mix the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients until a shaggy dough forms
  2. Knead the dough on a floured surface for 5-7 minutes until it is smooth and elastic
  3. Shape the dough into small balls and arrange them in a ring shape to form donuts
  4. Heat the oil in a large pot to 325-350°F (160-175°C). Fry the shaped donuts in small batches for 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brow
  5. Drain excess oil on paper towels and allow to cool slightly
  6. Prepare the glaze by mixing powdered sugar with milk and vanilla extract. Dip each warm donut into the glaze and let set

Notes

For gluten-free donuts, substitute with a gluten-free flour blend.

For dairy-free versions, use plant-based milk and butter.
