Ingredients
2 ½ cups All-purpose flour
1 cup Granulated sugar
½ cup Unsalted butter, softened
2 Large eggs
¼ cup Whole milk
1 teaspoon Baking powder
1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
½ teaspoon Salt
Optional: Powdered sugar for dusting
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt. Set this aside
- In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy
- Beat in the eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then stir in the vanilla extract
- Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients alternately with the milk
- Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the baking sheets, leaving 2 inches between each cookie
- Bake for 8-10 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden and the centers are set
- Allow to cool on the sheets for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely
Notes
For a gluten-free version, use a 1:1 gluten-free baking blend.
You can add a teaspoon of lemon or orange zest for extra flavor.
