Instructions
- Step 1: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a 9×13 inch baking pa
- Step 2: Cream butter and sugar in a bowl, then add flour and salt to form the crust. Press into the pan and bake for 20-25 minutes until golde
- Step 3: For the custard, combine milk and cream in a saucepan and heat until simmering. In another bowl, whisk sugar, cornstarch, egg yolks, and salt. Temper the egg mixture with hot milk
- Step 4: Return the mixture to the saucepan and cook while whisking until thickened, then stir in vanilla
- Step 5: Pour custard over the baked crust and spread evenly. Chill for 3-4 hours or overnight until set
- Step 6: Dust with powdered sugar, cut into bars, and serve
Notes
