1 cup Granulated sugar

5 large Eggs, separated
½ cup Whole milk
1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
1 (12 oz) can Evaporated milk
1 (14 oz) can Sweetened condensed milk
½ cup Heavy cream
2 cups Heavy cream, for whipped cream
¼ cup Powdered sugar, for whipped cream
1 teaspoon Vanilla extract, for whipped cream
1 lb Fresh strawberries, sliced or halved

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a 9×13 inch baking pan by greasing and flouring it
  2. Separate the egg yolks and whites into separate bowls
  3. In the bowl with the egg yolks, add ¾ cup of granulated sugar, beat until pale yellow and thick
  4. Stir in the ½ cup of whole milk and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
  5. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt
  6. Fold the dry mixture into the wet egg yolk mixture gently
  7. Whip the egg whites until soft peaks form, gradually adding the remaining ¼ cup of sugar until stiff peaks form
  8. Fold the whipped egg whites into the cake batter gently
  9. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 30-35 minutes
  10. Once baked, let the cake cool and poke holes in the top
  11. Prepare the milk soak by whisking together the evaporated milk, sweetened condensed milk, and ½ cup heavy cream
  12. Pour the milk mixture evenly over the warm cake
  13. Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight
  14. For topping, whip the heavy cream with powdered sugar and vanilla extract until stiff peaks form
  15. Spread the whipped cream over the chilled cake and top with fresh strawberries before serving

Notes

Ensure to poke enough holes in the cake for better absorption of the milk mixture.
